at the making of this indenture free from any Mortgage lien or other
incumbrance or any other claim whatever except that vested by lawful deed and
title in me the said John L. Howard said lot or parcel of land being known
as the "Neal Office lot" and bounded on the south by lot claimed by J.M.
Fraster now owned by Thomas McCredie on the East by J.H. Stokes on the
North by lot of Thomas F. King and on the west by public square said lot
extending (50) feet on the North and south line and one Hundred and Eighty five
(185) feet on the East and West lines Together with all the singular the improve-
ments tenements hereditaments to the same belonging or in anyway appertain-
ing to have and to hold the above described property unto the said Woodruff
Morris & Co & C.S. Parsons & Son their heirs and assigns in fee simple forever

"Deed"
This Indenture made the 1st day of February in the Year of our Lord one
thousand and Eight hundred and Eighty two Between James H. Hagood
and Johnson Hagood of the first part and C.W. Keep and Mary J. Sampson
parties of the second part of the second part Witnesseth that the said parties
of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Thirteen hundred
and twenty dollars lawful money of the United States of America to them
in hand paid by the said parties of the second part at or before the enseal-
ing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have granted bargained sold aliened remised released conveyed and
confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien remise
