as follows Beginning at the corner of Reed and McMeekin
Streets and at the South West corner of Block Two (2)
thence south 24° 30' East three chains and Eighteen (1/5)
links (18 1/5) to north west corner of lot thence thirty (30)
feet fronting on Reed Street and forty (40) feet deep To
have and to hold the above described land to the said party
of the second part her heirs and assigns Together with the
rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or
in any manner appertaining And the said parties of the
first part for themselves their heirs executors administrators
and assigns the title to the above bargained sold and
conveyed premises will forever warrant and defend

Geo F. Bates and acknowledged that they executed the
foregoing deed for the purpose of conveying the land
therein described to Mrs. Nancy J. Quarles and the said
Mrs. Annie E. Bates upon an examination made by me Separ
ate and apart from her husband acknowledges that she
made herself a party to said conveyance for the purpose
of relinquishing all right in the lands therein mentioned
and that she did so freely and voluntarily and without
any fear constraint or compulsion from her said husband
