Clerk of the Superior Court for said City and County
the same being a Court of Record Do Hereby certify that
J. McG Smith whose name is subscribed to the certificate of
the proof or acknowledgment of the annexed instrument
and thereon written was at the time of taking such proof
and acknowledgment a Notary Public in and for
the City and County of New York dwelling in the
said City commissioned and sworn and duly author
ized to take the same and further that I am well acq
uainted with the hand writing of such Notary and verily
believe that the signature of said certificate of proof
or acknowledgment is genuine  I further certify that
said Instrument is executed and acknowledged accord
ing to the law of the State of New York  In testimony
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed
the seal of the said Court and County the 30 day
of June 1883.

                  "Deed"
This Indenture made this twenty seventh day of
November AD 1883 between Cynthia J. Waits in
her own right and Calvin Waits her husband of 
the County of Alachua and State of Florida party
of the first part and Philip B. Turpin of the Coun
ty of Alachua and State of Florida party of the
second part witnesseth that the said party of the
first part for and in consideration of the sum
of Five Hundred Dollars to them in hand paid the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained
sold and Transfered and by these presents do bargain
sell and Transfer unto the said party of the second
part and his heirs and assigns forever that certain
parcel of land lying and being in the County of 
Alachua and State of Florida and more particularly
described as follows Starting from a point Sixty
feet from the south West corner of Maxwells Lot
and Thirty Five Feet from the North East corner
of Ballard and Stewarts Lot  Thence south 19 1/2°
E Nineteen and one half degrees east variation
added Twenty chains and seventy one links (20 ch &
71 L) thence South (3° E) three Degrees East Eleven
chains and forty two links (11ch 42L) to the South West
