The call for said meeting was then read and
other
it appearing that^public matters prevented some who
desired to be present from attending and that there
were not a majority present of those who signed
said call the meeting was then upon motion ad
journed to meet again on Oct 23rd 1883 at 2 1/2 PM
at the same place and again on Oct 23rd 1883
at 2 1/2 PM at Temperance Hall came Together
the following persons to wit T.M Cauthen H.N. Pettit
J.E. Merrill J.T. Ferguson Mrs S.A. Pettit and James
Mitchell and the meeting was called to order by T.M.
Cauthen and upon motion T.M. Cauthen was again
Elected Chairman and James Mitchell Secretary The
minutes of the previous meeting were read and app
roved and there now being found to be more than
five persons present and a majority of those who
signed a call for said meeting it was decided
to proceed with the adoption of a constitution and
such other business as might be proper to be trans
acted whereupon the following constitution was prop
osed and unanimously adopted.
Constitution and Rules of the Presbyterian Church of Waldo Florida
Article I Name
This association shall be called the Presbyterian Church
and Society of Waldo Florida
Article II Relation
The church and society shall be connected with the
Presbytery of East Florida of the Presbyterian Church
in the United States of America
Article III Government
The secular and financial interest of the church
and society shall be entrusted to a Board of Five
(3) Trustees who shall be elected annually at a
meeting of the church and society
Article IV Annual Meeting
The annual meeting for the election of Trustees and
the Transaction of other secular business shall
be held on the first Tuesday of December of every
year
Article V Officers
The Board of Trustees shall elect their own Presid
ent Secretary and Treasurer
Article V Duties of Officers
Section 1. The President shall preside at all meetings
of the Board of Trustees and put to vote all questions
and perform such other duties as may be connected
with such office Section 2. The Secretary shall keep a
record of all proceedings of the Board and present the
