of the first part and A.R. Simmons, Warren Brigham, B.B.
Brigham and J.C. Brooks as Trustees of and for the African Meth
odist Episcopal Zion Church in America, a duly and legally or-
Ganized Corporate body party of the second part, Witnesseth That
the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the
sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($50000) to them Cash in hand paid
by the parties of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby
acknowledged have bargained Granted sold and conveyed and by
these presents do grant bargain sell and Convey and Confirm
unto the said parties of the second part and to their successors and
assigns forever all of the following described Real Estate Situate
lying and being in the City of Gainesville in Alachua County
Florida to wit. Beginning at a point 30, thirty feet south of the
North East Corner of a lot or parcel of land 157 1/2 feet East and West
by 630 feet North & South, purchased by William H. Davis, from
W.A. Colclough, O.C. Colclough and C.A. Colclough, by deed dated
3rd of February 1885, and being the East half of the East half of
Lot 4 of Brown's addition to the town of Gainesville, and in the
North West quarter of Section Five 5 Township 10 Ten South
Range Twenty East and running thence from said point of Com
mencement West 157 1/2 feet Thence South 207 feet Thence East
parallel with the first line 157 1/2 feet, Thence North parallel with
the second line 207 feet to the place of beginning. Together with
all and singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances
to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and
to hold the above granted and described property and every part
and parcel thereof unto the said parties of the second part and to
their successors and assigns forever in fee simple absolute
In trust however that said premises shall be used Kept main
tained and disposed of as a place of worship for the use of the
Ministry and membership of the African Methodist Episcopal
Zion Church in America, subject to the discipline usage and
ministerial appointments of said church as from time to time
authorized and declared by the General Conference of said Church
and Annual Conference in whose bounds the said premises are
situated. And the said parties of the first part for themselves
and their heirs executors and administrators do herein and hereby
Covenant and agree to and with the said parties of the second part
that they are lawfully seized in fee simple of said property, That
the same is free from all encumbrances whatsoever, That
they have good right to sell and convey the same, and they will
warrant and forever defend the same to the said parties of the
second part and their heirs executors and assigns forever against
the lawful Claims of any and all persons whomsoever now
