At a meeting of the Board of County Commis
sioners.  Present Wm Strickland C. Rain 
J.M. Sparkman Mathew Hinson and 
E.H. Jordan President of the Board
1st   Ordered that the report of R.E. Johnston 
A.W. Cook and R.L. Stoughton Commissioners 
appointed to view and assess the property of 
John T. McIntosh as per order made 11th 
day of march Ad 1861 be rec'd which 
report is that said Negro property should 
be assessed at Two Thousand dollars said 
amt of Two Thousand dollars being the amt
assessed by the said John T. McIntosh
2nd   Ordered that the report of John Sparkman 
John N. Orman and Edward Lewis Com
missioners appointed to view and assess the 
Negro property of J.M. Miller as per order 
made the 11th day of March AD 1861 be 
rec'd said Commissioners report that said 
Negro property should be assessed at 
Four Thousand Eight Hundred dollars 
when said J.M. Miller assessed same 
at Three thousand dollars 
3rd Ordered that the Taxes for the year 1861 
be assessed at Fifteen per cent (15 pr cent)
	There being no further business the Board 
adjourned the meet agin the20th day of 
May AD 1861
