and sell unto the said Charles Waldron his heirs and
assigns a certain mulatto slave named Mary aged
about twenty one years about five feet ten inches in height
To have and to hold the said slave to the said Charles
Waldron his heirs and assigns to his and their own
proper use, benefit and behoof forever
And the said Benjamin Harn for himself his heirs
executors and administrators the said bargained
slave unto the said Charles Waldron will warrant and
forever defend against the claim of himself and his heirs
and against the claim of all other persons whatsoever
Provided nevertheless that if the said Benjamin Harn
his heirs executors and administrators shall and do
well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said
Charles Waldron his heirs and assigns the afore mentioned
sum of Two hundred & twenty three 57/100 dollars
on the day and time mentioned and appointed
for the payment thereof in the said promissory note
mentioned with interest for the same at ten per centum,
according to the tenor of said note then & from thenceforth
as well as this present indenture and the right to the
property thereby conveyed as the said promissory
note shall cease determine and be void to all intents
& purposes -
In Testimony whereof the said Benjamin
Harn hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day & year
afore written - the word January was intered in the nine
teenth line of the first page before signing
