Teritory of Florida This Indenture made this eigh
Alachua County teenth day of December 1834
Between W.H.G. Sanders of the
Teritory and County aforesaid of the one part and
Thomas Colding (sen) of the same place of the other part
Witnesseth, whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be
had and solemnized between the said W.H.G. Sanders
and Zelpha Caroline Colding of the Teritory and County
aforesaid and whereof the W.H.G. Sanders being possessed
and owning certain personal property hereafter discribed is
desirous previous to said marriage being had and solemnized
and in consideration thereof between him and the said Zelpha
Caroline of settling and securing the same the same unto the said
Zelpha Caroline for her and during her life - Now therefore
this Indenture witnesseth that for and in consideration of
the premises and the said marriage to be had and solemnized
as aforesaid and of the sum of ten dollars to him the said
W.H.G. Sanders in hand paid by the said Tho’s Colding sen
at and before the sealing (& delivery) of these presents the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged he the said W.H.G. Sanders
has granted bargained sold and by these presents doth
grant bargain and sell unto him the said Tho’s Colding sen
his executors administrators the following personal property that
is to say - one Negro male slave named Fortune about twenty
five years of age one female slave - Nancy about sixteen
years of age and her child Robert about seven moths old
and one male slave named Cathom about five five years old
one male slave named Hary aged thirty years and one female
slave named Maria about thirty years of age forty head
of stock cattle and one Bay Horse - and the future
issue of the females of said slaves and cattle To have
and to hold all the above bargained sold and discribed
property unto him the said Tho’s Colding Sen his Executors
and administrators in trust nevertheless and for |
