This Indenture made this twenty ninth day of July in the 
year of our Lord on thousand eight hundred and twenty 
five Between Joseph Ward of the City and State of New 
York Gentleman of the first part and Nehemiah Brush 
of the same place Phiscian of the other part --
Whereas in and by a certain agreement bearing date at 
Havana the fifteenth day of March in the year of our 
lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty one 
between Fernando de la Maza Aredondo & Son of the 
City of Havana Merchant of the one part and the above 
named Jasper Ward by the description of Jasper Ward 
of the City of New York Merchant of the second part in 
which after reciting that the said Fernando de la Maza 
Aredondo & Son had received title for two hundred and 
eighty nine thousand six hundred and forty five acres 
and five sevenths of an acre of land in the Teritory of 
Lachua in East Florida as would more fully appear 
by said title dated at Havana the twenty second day 
of December 1817 references thereunto being had and in 
which after further reciting that the said Fernando 
de la Maza Arredondo & Son had agreed to sell & 
convey all their right and title to one hundred and forty 
four thousand eight hundred and twenty two acres of the 
said land to the said Jasper Ward for certain considerations 
in the said agreement particular expressed the said Fernando 
de la Maza Aradondo & son stipulated that they would 
by themselves or their attorney execute quit claim deeds 
for the said land to the said Jasper Ward or convey 
the same in trust as the said Jasper ward might direct 
and that the said Fernando de la Maza Aredendo & Son 
would contribute their proportion of the expense not exceeding 
one and a half cent per acre in negotiating a treaty with 
the Indians on said lands and would also pay the expenses 
of the Original more fully survey of said tract
