I Nicholas Dean Clerk of the City and County of 
New York Do hereby Certify that Ambrose Kirtland 
whose name is subscribed to the proof and acknowledg
ment of the annexed Indenture or Instrument in 
Writing and thereon written was on the day and 
date of said Certificate a Commissioner in and for the 
said City & County of New York aforesaid dwelling in said 
City -- Commissioned and sworn and duly authorized 
by law to take the proof and acknowledgment of 
Deeds and discharges of Mortgages &c   And further 
that I am well acquainted with the hand writing of 
said Commissioner and verilly believe that the sig
nature of Ambrose Kirtland subscribed to said Certif
icate is the proper hand writing of said Commissioner
     In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand 
and seal affixed the seal of said County the

                     6th day of February in the year of 
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty 
eight Before me Ambrose Kirtland one of the Com
missioners for taking the proofs and acknowledgments 
of Deeds &c in and for the City and County of New York 
personaly appeared Richard S. Hackley to me know 
to be the person discribed in and who executed the 
within deed and acknowledged that he had 
executed the same for the purposes therein mentioned
