		Know all men by these presents that I 
Francis D. Newcomb of the Territory and County aforesaid have 
this day bargained sold and delivered to Gad Humphreys a Negro 
or Mulatto Girl named Katy aged about Seventeen years 
for and in consideration of the sum of four Hundred and 
fourteen dollars to me in hand paid the receipt of which 
is hereby acknowledged & I hereby warrant & defend the title 
to the said Girl - Witness my hand & seal at *************** 
Brook this 14th day of April 1830
