By this public Instrument Be it known to
all who it may concern that I William H. Maxwell
Commissioner in and for the State of New York duly
commissioned by the Governor of the Teritory of Florida
by virtue of an Act of the Legislature of said
Teritory entitled An Act to Authorize the Appoint
ment of Commissioners &c passed January 24th 1831
and thereby authorized and empowered to take
acknowledgments of any Deeds Contract Letters of
Attorney Mortgages or Conveyance of any land ***
or hereditaments lying or being in the said Teritory of
Florida or any other writing under seal to be used
in said Teritory with full power and authority to
administer Oath and affirmations take dispossession
&c Do hereby Certify that on the 28th day of August one
thousand eight hund and thirty five Before me said
Commissioner personly came Moses Elias Levy known
to me to be the individual named in and who
executed the annexed Deed and I having first
made known to him the contents thereof he did
in due form of law acknowledge that as the
Attorney in fact of Joseph Delavante and
Seraphina Chauveteau as in said deed specified
he had signed sealed and delivered the said
Deed for the purposes therein contained |
