& makes application to be appointed Guardian 
for U. Gibbons (Minor) __   It is then decreed that 
he be appointed Guardian of said minor

                      presents that I Thomas 
A. Holiday hath this day for and in considera
tion of the sum of Six hundred and fifty 
dollars to me in hand paid the receipt 
whereof I do hereby Acknowledge  bargained and 
sold and do by these presents bargain and 
sell unto William O. Thomas  A negro man 
slave named Jim Which slave I do bind 
myself my Heirs Executors Administrators and 
assigns unto the said William O. Thomas his 
heirs Execu'r  Adm'r & assigns to Warrant and 
defend against the claim or claims of any person 
or persons whatsoever
	In Witness whereof I have hereunto 
set my hand and seal this fourteenth day of 
June 1837
