This Indenture made the Seventeenth day of October in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five
Between James B. Murray of the City, County, and State of New York
and Mary his wife of the first part and Ferris Pell Esquire of the said City, County
and State of the Second part, Witnesseth, That said party of the
first part for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen hundred
dollars lawful money of the United States of America to them
in hand paid, part, by the said party of the second part, at or before the ensealing and delivery of these Presents, the receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged, and the said party of the second part,
his heirs, executors, and administrators, forever released and discharged
from the same by these Presents, hath granted, bargained, sold,
aliened, remised, released, enfeoffed, conveyed and confirmed,
And by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, remise,
release, enfeoff, convey, and confirm, unto the said party of the
second part, his heirs and assigns forever, The north western
most quarter of that certain tract, or township of land, lying
and being in the territory of East Florida, and being part
of a larger tract of land, on the waters of Tampa and Hills
borough bays, granted by the late Governor White, to Pedro
Miranda, by an indenture bearing date the twenty sixth
day of November Anno Domini 1810, and which tract, or
township, now granted, is designated as number (7) seven, on a map
of the said grant, by Charles Bignoly, and on record in the proper
office, at Saint Augustine, said tract or township, being boun
ded on the north, by township number (2) two, on the east by
township number (8) eight an the south by township
number (10) ten, and on the west by township number
(6) six, the whole of which said tract or township, number
(7) seven, contains twenty three thousand and forty acres
be the same more or less, and is the same which was conveyed
to the said James B. Murray, by deed bearing date the
thirteenth day of February A.D. 1822 executed by the said
Don Pedro Miranda, of St. Augustine, in East Florida by |
