This Indenture made the twenty sixth day 
of March in the year One thousand Eight hun
dred thirty nine, between Peter Mitchel of the 
State of Georgia of the one part and John 
Drysdale of the City of St. Augustine in the 
Territory of Florida of the other part.  Witnesseth 
that the said Peter Mitchel for and in con
sideration of the sum of Five hundred dollars 
to him in hand well and truly paid by the 
said John Drysdale at and before the 
sealing and delivery of these presents the 
Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged  Hath 
granted bargained sold aliened released and confirmed 
and by these presents Doth grant bargain 
sell alien release and confirm unto the said 
John Drysdale his heirs and assigns forever  
one individual part tract or parcel of Land 
Consisting of Five hundred Acres being 
part and parcel of that tract or parcel of Land 
situate & being in the County of Alachua in 
East Florida which was originally granted 
by the Spanish Government by grant bearing date 
on or about the twenty second day of December 
one thousand eight hundred and seventeen 
to Don Fernando de la Maza & son of 
Henandes  And is Commonly called the 
Arredondo Grant And is the same land 
the grant and title to which was con
firmed by the Supreme Court of the United 
States at the Term of that Court holden 
in January one thousand eight hundred 
and thirty two - and of which said 
tract or parcel of land the said Peter 
Mitchel is now a Grantee,  was one fourth
