the above renunciation relinquishment and release of Dower to the 
Grantee therein named and declared that she had done the same freely 
voluntarily and without any Compulsion Constraint Apprehension or 
fear of and or from her said Husband and that she wished not to retract it

This Indenture the twenty Second day of January 
in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred & forty one   
Between John J. Sanchez Commissioner for the Town of Newnansville 
for the sale of Town Lots duly appointed by the Judge of the County 
Court of Alachua County pursuant to an Act of the Legislative 
Council of the Territory of Florida to that effect of the first part 
and James M. Bates of Newnansville of the second part   Witnesseth 
That Whereas the said James M. Bates has become a purchaser 
of the Town Lots herein after Specified   Now know  ye 
that I the said John J. Sanchez Commissioner as Aforesaid 
for and in consideration of the sum of Thirty six Dollars lawful 
money to me in hand paid there receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged 
have granted bargained and sold and by these presents Do grant 
bargain and sell unto the said James M. Bates his heirs & assigns 
forever   All those certain Lots designated as Lots number six and 
seven in the half range upon the plan of the Town of Newnansville
