hereby granted to the said Lafayette and Columbus equally in such 
posthumous child or children born as aforesaid together with the 
said Lafayette and Columbus share & share alike and provided 
also if any or either of such child or children herein spoken of or 
referred to should die before the particular estates herein and hereby 
reserved shall determine that his or her share in said Negroes shall 
vest in the remaining child or children herein named or referred to so 
as to vest in the remaining children if more than one equal shares and 
if but one the whole property Granted but if all said children should 
die before the particular estates or either hereby reserved, shall de
termine the estate hereby Granted shall so operate that the Negroes 
Milley and Wiley and the increase of the female shall vest at 
the death of said Susanna Stafford in her right heirs by con
sanguinity, and in like manner the title in the Negroes Fanny & 
Jack and the increase of the female shall revert to the said John 
M. Stafford or his right heirs at law, Provided also that if the 
said John Stafford should die during the minority of the Grantees 
herein named or referred to or during the minority of either of them 
that he reserve to himself the right of appointing a guardian to such 
minor or minors as the case may be, to manage that part of the 
estate hereby granted and in which a life estate has reserved to said 
John M. for the use of such minor or minors during minority in such 
manner as by appointment he may think necessary and must to interest 
of said minor or minors, Provided also that this deed is made 
subject to the limitations contained in a deed of trust made by the 
said John M. Stafford and Susanna his wife to the said George 
Branning herein before named, So far as respects the Negroes Milley 
and Wiley and the increase of the female, which said deed of 
trust bears even date with these presents and is intended to per
fect a final separation between the aforesaid John M. Stafford 
and his aforesaid wife and for the purpose of a division of 
their estate between them

Stafford and Susanna his wife have hereto set their hands
