to and is actually about to make a deed of trust of certain
property in said deed specified for the support and maintenance
of his wife Susanna Stafford who hath separated herself
from him, to the said George Branning, and which appears
more at large in said deed (Reference thereto being had will
appear) bearing even date with these presents and whereas
the the said John M. Was unwilling to make such provision by deed
for his said wife unless indemnified against all damage, costs
& charges, whatever to be sustained in and about her
support and maintenance from and after the Twentieth of May of the
present year for and during the residue and remainder of her life
and also to be indemnified against all liability or account
of any debts, dues, damages, or demands of her creating or
contracting during the term and time aforesaid or any demand
for board support, or maintenance of her children, at any time
or times while they or any of them remain in her care, charge
custody or keeping -- and the said George Branning consented
if the said Stafford would execute the deed of trust aforesaid
to hold him harmless in the premises, and in consideration thereof
and for the further consideration of five dollars in hand paid to
the said Branning by the s’d Stafford at and before the
ensealing of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged,
bound himself so to do. Now if the said George and William Branning
or either of them shall in all things bear the said John M.
Stafford harmless, and free, from all damages, costs and charges
in the condition of this bond set forth them this obligation to
be void Else to remain in full force and virtue in Law
