For the Sum of Four Thousand Three Hundred 
and Eighty Two Dollars and Eighty one cents  
Given to Secure A Debt to That Amount to the 
said Robert O. Dale  And That I Will and 
My Executors & co Shall Warrant and Defend 
the Same to the Said Thomas C. Grimes his 
Executors Administrators and Assigns Against 
the Lawful Claims and Demands With the 
Foregoing Exception of All Persons
Now the Condition of the Above Instrument 
is Such That If the said William D. Grimes 
his Executors Administrators Shall Well and Truly 
Pay unto the Said Thomas C. Grimes his Executors 
Administrators and Assigns  The Said Debt in 
Such Sums as the Said Thomas C. Grimes 
Shall require to Secure Himself From Such 
Demands as have Been Shall be may be Prosecuted 
to A Judgement Against Him, Then This Conveyance to be 
void Otherwise to remain in full Force 
and Affect And Provided Also that until 
Defaults By the Said William D. Grimes 
his Executors or Administrators in the Performance 
of the Condition Aforesaid, it Shall and 
may Be Lawfull for him or Them to Keep 
Possession of the Afore Granted Property 
And to use And Enjoy the Same, in 
Testimony Whereof I have here unto Set my hand 
and Seal this Eighth day of March One
