This Indenture made & entered into this twenty eighth
day of June, in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty three between
Thomas S. Clark, on the one part and John Mizelle, on the other part
both of the Territory aforesaid, witnesseth, That the said Clark for and in
consideration of the sum of five hundred 62/100 dollars to him in hand paid
at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained sold and conveyed, and by
these presents do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Mizelle, a
certain tract or parcel of Land containing five hundred acres more or
less, being and laying in Alotchua County of this Territory and situated in
Langs Hammoc, on the south side of Orange, alias, Mizells Lake, and
which was rendered to him the said Clark for services, pursuant to a grant
of the late Spanish Government, as will more fully appear by annexed
Certificate and Plot of the Surveyor General of East Florida
To have and to hold said tract or parcel of Land, unto
him the said John Mizelle, his heirs and assigns, together with all and
singular, the rights members and appurtenances, to the same in any manner
belonging, to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in
fee simple
And the said Tho’s S. Clarke for himself, his heirs, executors and
administrators, the said bargained premises unto the said John Mizelle, his heirs
and assigns, will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against
themselves and against the claims of all other persons whatsoever
In witness whereof the said Clark hath hereunto set his
hand and seal, the day and year above written
