will be payable on the first day of January next which will be in the

presents and every matter and thing herein contained shall cease 
and become null and void otherwise to be and remain in full force and

   This Indenture made the Eleventh day of February in the 
year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and Twenty two between 
Fernando de la Maza Arredondo & Jose de la Maza Arredondo 
of the City of Havana in the Island of Cuba composing the firm of 
Fernando de la Maza Arredondo & Son of the said City of Havana 
Merchant of the first part and Jasper Ward of the City and State of New 
York Gentleman of the second part.  Whereas the said parties of 
the first part are seized and possessed as the sole proprietors there
of of a certain tract of Land hereto before belonging to his Majesty the 
King of Spain and herein after particularly described in virtue of a 
grant thereof made to them the said parties of the first part by Don 
Alexandro Ramirez Intendant of the Army Superintendent General 
Subdelegate of the royal treasury of the Island of Cuba and the 
Two Floridas, &c &c in a certain title executed by the said Don Alexandro 
Ramirez in the name of the King and in the exercise of the power con
ferred by the King on the said Don Alexandro Ramirez.  Sealed
