		This Indenture made this third day of 
February in the year of our Lord 1829 between Wiley Brooks 
of the County of Alachua in the Territory of Florida on the one 
part & John G. Slappey M.D. of Twiggs County Georgia, Witnesseth 
that the said Wiley Brooks for and in consideration of the 
sum one dollar to me in hand paid at and before the signing 
of these presents, hath granted bargained, sold and conveyed 
and do by these presents grant bargain sell & convey unto the 
said John G. Slappey M.D. his heirs and assigns the place or 
Plantation which I settled on and adjoining the Alachua 
Savannah or Prarie together with the preemption right thereto 
all lying in the County of Alachua and Territory aforesaid
	And the said Wiley Brooks for himself his heirs and assigns 
the said bargained premises unto the said John G. Slappey M.
D.  His heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the said 
preemtion right thereto.  In witness whereof the said Wiley 
Brooks hath hereunto set his hand and seal the year and 
day above written
