the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
We the said Isaac Garrason hath bargained sold
and delivered and doth by these present bargain
sell and deliver to the said Darius Garrason M.
Garrason Samuel Piles William Piles and James
Harn the parties of the part a certain Negro man
named Sylvester aged about twenty four years a
cotton saw Gin and the improvement on which the
said Isaac Garrason now resides together with
crop grown and groing there on during the present
year and three head of Horses to wit one sorrel
Horse a sorrel mare and a black mare and indian
poney To have and to hold the above named and
described property all and singular to the parties
of the second part their heirs and assigns forever
free from the claim of him said Isaac Garrason
his heirs and assigns &c forever - provided how
ever it is expressly understood by and between the
parties hereto that this Indenture is to be taken and
construed and held as a mortgage to secure to
the parties aforesaid the payment of the sum of
one dollar as aforesaid and also as an indenture
against the liability of the said parties of the second
part so as here in before expressed was incurred by
them for the said Isaac Garrason on or before the first
day of May that will be in the year of our Lord
Eighteen hundred & Thirty five well and truly pay
the parties of the second part for all sum
& demands herein set forth then at the proper
cost and charges of the said Isaac the said
parties of the second part shall reconvey to him
the said Isaac all and singular the property |
