part five several promissory notes expresed to be for 
value received each bearing date the first day of October
1833 payable to the order of the said Martha J.H. 
Bench at the Louisiana State Bank in New Orleans 
the first for four thousand four hundred and fifty 
seven 45 1/5/100 dollars (say $4457.45 1/5/100) due two years 
after date     the second for three thousand three hundred and
fifty six 19 1/5/100 dollars (say $3356.19 1/5/100) due three years 
after date     the third for three thousand one hundred and seventy 
two 65 1/5/100 dollars (say $3172. 65 1/5/100 due four years after date     
the fourth for two thousand nine hundred and eighty nine 
11 1/5/100 dollars (say$2989. 11 1/5/100 due five years after date, and 
the fifth for two thousand eight hundred and five 57 1/5/100 dollars 
(say$2805.57 1/5) due six years after date which said note 
amount in all to the sum of sixteen thousand seven hundred 
and eighty 98/100 dollars ($16780.98) they being for the prin
cipal and interest of the said debt calculated at the rate of 
seven per cent upon the amount of the principal debt above 
mentioned And whereas the said party of the first 
part is willing and desirous to secure the payment of said 
debt & the interest thereon - Now therefore for the above 
consideration And further consideration of one dollar to 
him in hand paid by the party of the second part at & 
before the sealing and delivery of these presents - the said party 
of the first part hath given granted bargained sold aliened 
sufcoffed released & confirmed and by these presents 
doth give grant bargain sell alien sufcoff release & confirm 
unto the party of the second part her heirs and assigns 
forever all that certain piece or parcel of land situate in 
Teritory of East Florida on the westard of the big Alachua 
Savannah containing three thousand acres of land 
being a part of a four thousand acre grant made 
to Charles W. Clark by the Spanish Government and 
sold by him to G.I.F. Clark & by him sold to the
