     Notice of Application for letters Patent

     Notice is hereby given that on the 6th day of October  A.D.  1904
the undersigned will apply to the honorable J.T. Wills Judge of the
Circuit Court Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida in and for
Alachua County for letters Patent on the Charter proposed
accompanying this notice

    The Proposed Charter is as follows: 
  
First.  The corporate name of said corporation and the place where it
is to be located shall be "Mount Pleasant Methodist Episcopal Church"
located in the City of Gainesville, Alachua County Florida.

Second.  The general nature of the object of the corporation is to
provide and procure a house of worship in said City to Cultivate the
principles of evangelical religion; to spread the Gospel; to promote the
general welfare of humanity and the cause of temperance, and
generally to do all things necessary and proper to accomplish such
objects and for these purposes to have and possess all the
rights benefits privileges and immunities incident to, and given
under the laws of this State to a corporation of such character.

Third.  The qualification of members and the manner of their
admission shall be as prescribed by the book of discipline of 
the Methodist denomination.

Fourth.  The term for which said corporation shall exist shall be
perpetually.

Fifth.  The names and residences of the subscribers are R.B. Ayer
E. Martin, John F. Murrell, H.P. Jackson, Lewis Murray, Ellerson
Thompson, L. Davis, Hattie Adams, Johns Wallace, each a 
resident of Gainesville Florida

Sixth.  The affairs of said corporation shall be manaqed
by a Board of Trusteers consisting of not less than three nor more
than nine to be elected annually by the fourth quarterly
conference as prescribed by the bylaws of this corporation and
shall hold office until their successors are Elected.  Each Board
of Trustees shall have a Chairman and Secretary as chosen by
and from said Board.  The names of the officers who are to
manager the affairs of the corporation until the first Election
are as follows R.B. Ayer Chairman, E. Martin Secretary, Board of Trustees
