Notice of Application for Letters Patent
Notice is hereby given that on the 15th day of April A.D. 1905 we the
undersigned, will apply to his Excellency N.B. Broward Governor of
the State of Florida or his successors in office for Letters Patent
on the Charter proposed below

Articles of Incorporation
of Alachua County Abstract Company
I. The name of this Corporation shall be the Alachua County
Abstract Company, and its principal place of business Shall
be Gainesville, Alachua County Florida.
II. The general nature of business to be transacted shall be to
make abstracts and examinations of title to and the charges
or liens, upon real property to abstract the public records relating
to the title to and charges, and incumbrances, including taxes,
upon real property and to compile the same into convenient
form for the purpose of facilitating the making of such
abstracts and examination of titles to certify the completeness
and accuracy of such abstracts and the quality and condition
of the title shown thereby and to guarantee to purchasers
and lenders of money or credit upon the security of real
property the character and condition of the same. To take and
hold the title to and possession of both real and personal
property as trustees for others and as such to manage and
control, lease sell or mortgage the same. To act as agent for
others in returning and paying taxes for the purchase, lease of
sale of lands or other property or any interest therein; to lend or
hire the money, property or credit of itself or others with or without
security and to receive and pay interest thereon and to take
the title of both real and personal property as mortgagee or trustee
to secure the same; to buy hold sell or exchange real and personal
property and real estate securities in its own right, to buy
and to sell for itself and for others on commission real and
personal property and to acquire by purchase for cash or its
equivalent in Capital Stock, any title or abstract, plant or
plants or other facilities for the conduct of its business and
to enjoy all the powers privileges and franchises granted
to like corporations under the laws of the State of Florida and
otherwise to do and perform all such acts and things and
exercise such powers as it may in the conduct of its said
business.
III. The amount of Capital Stock of this corporation shall be
ten thousand dollars to be divided into one hundred Shares of the
par value of one hundred dollars per share. Said stock shall be
paid in cash or property at a valuation to be fixed by the
directory of the company at a meeting called for such purpose
upon the granting of this charter. |
