E.B. Howell  C.A. Neal and E.T. Henderson
At a meeting of the Citizens of Newberry assembled in
persuance of legal action hereto attached held April 8th
1907 in Hall at Newberry C.A. Neal was elected chairman
and D.G. Roland secretary.
Rev. G. T. Taylor addressed the Meeting on the benefits of
incorporation on motion of T.M. Kincaid the law governing
such incorporation was read.
On Motion a Committee of three consisting of E.T. Henderson
W.H. Tucker and A.G. Reid were appointed to make a list of
qualified voters.  Committee reported a list of fifty three
qualified voters, Forty five of whom were present.
Report received and adopted. Motion carried that
ballot be by rising vote.  Nominations for Mayor being in
order E.T. Henderson, W.H. Tucker and C.A. Neal were
placed in nomination.  E.T. Henderson received Thirty
Votes.  E.T. Henderson declared elected.  Motion was carried
that we have Five aldermen.  Nominations C.A. Neal,
G.W. Livingston, C.D. May, T.M. Kincaid and W.H. Tucker
