grants unto them full authority to exercise the powers and privileges of a corporation
for the purpose above stated, in accordance with their said charter and the Laws of
this State.

NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR LETTERS PATENT.
Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the eighth day of October, A. D. 1907, the
undersigned will apply to his Excellendy, N.B. Broward, Governor of the State of Florida
for Letters Patent on the charter proposed accompanying this notice.

Under and pursuant to the requirements of the statutes of the State of Florida, we,
the undersigned, W.R. Thomas, J.B. Padgett and R.E. Hill, Jr.. desiring for ourselves,
our associates and successors, to form and be incorporated as a corporation, do hereby g
give notice that we shall apply to the Governor of the State of Florida for Letters
Patent.
The proposed charter is as follows:
1st.
The corporate name of said corporation shall be "The W.R. Thomas Live Stock Company"
located and having its principal office and place of business at Gainesville, Florida.
2nd.
The general nature of the business or businesses to be engaged in and transacted by
said company shall be as hereinafter mentioned and set forth, viz: transacting a general
livery and sales stable business; buying and selling at wholesale or retailhorses, mules
buggies, wagons, and harness, live stock and cattle of every character, goods, wares and
merchandise; the purchase and sale of real estate; to have full power to exercise by its
board of directors or duly authorized officers or agents, subject to law, all such inci-
dental powers as may be necessary to carry on and conduct said business, and for these
purposes to have and possess all the rights, benefits, privileges and immunities incident
to and given under the laws of this State to a corporation of such character.
3rd.
The amount of the capital stock of this corporation shall be ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($100,000.00), to be divided into one thousand shares of the par value of
ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) each, payable in lawful money of the United States, or in
property, labor or services, at a just valuation to be fixed by the board of directors at
a meeting called for such purpose.
4th.
The term for which this corporation shall exist shall be ninety-nine years.
5th.
The business of the said corporation shall be conducted by the following officers,
viz: a president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer, and a board of not less
than three nor more than nine directors, of which board of directors, the president, vice-
president, secretary and treasurer shall be members and stockholders, and all officers
of said corporation shall be chosen by the stockholders, The office of secretary and
