A ballot was then taken for Mayor and the
following persons received the votes set opposite
their names:-
H.F. Brooker 24 votes
And H.F. Brooker was thereupon declared the
mayor elect, having received a majority of the votes
cast.
A ballot was then taken for Alderman, and the fol-
lowing persons received the votes set opposite their
names:-
W.A. Lindsey 24 votes O.N. Sanders 24 votes
A.W. Smith 24 votes C.J. Fletcher 24 votes
C.C. Doke 24 votes
And W.A. Lindsey, A.W. Smith, C.C. Doke, O.N.
Sanders and C.J. Fletcher were thereupon declared the
Aldermen-elect, having received a majority of the
votes cast. A ballot was then taken for town
Clerk, and the following persons received the votes
set opposite their names:
B.F. Williams 23 votes
And B.F. Williams was thereupon declared Town Clerk
elect having received a majority of the votes cast. A
ballot was then taken for Marshall, and the fol-
lowing persons received the votes set opposite their names
L. Yancy 14 votes
J.P. Watson 12 votes
And L. Yancy was thereupon declared the marshall elect
having received a majority of the votes cast.
I Town Clerk of the Town of Trenton, Alachua County,
Florida do hereby certify that the foregoing is a fair
and complete transcript of the proceedings of the meet-
ing held on the date aforesaid, and at the time and
place aforesaid, to select officers and organize a
municipal government for the Town of Trenton.
