                    Letters Patent
State of Florida:  To all whom these presents shall
come-  Greeting:
Whereas, The East Florida Telephone Company, a cor-
poration existing under the laws of the State of Florida, by
a vote of more than three-fourths of all of the stock, at
a meeting held for that purpose on the thirtieth day of De-
cember,  A.D.  1908, duly called as provided by law adopted
a proposed amendment to its charter, as follows:
Resolved, That Article Six of the Charter of the East Flor-
ida Telephone Company be amended to read as follows: -
"The highest indebtedness or liability which the corporation
can subject itself is One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dol-
lars." and, Whereas, A certificate under the common seal
of the corporation, of the said proposed amendment, adopted
as aforesaid, was duly filed in the office of the Secretary of 
State, and due notice and publication thereof has been made
in proper form, and it appearing that the proposed amend-
ment will be beneficial and lawful, and not injurious to
the community, and is in accord with the purposes of the
charter, the same is therefore approved.  Whereupon, the
State of Florida Hereby Grants unto the said East Florida Tel-
ephone Company full authority to exercise the powers and
privileges of such corporation, under and in accordance
with its charter, as amended, as aforesaid.
In Witness Whereof, These presents have been attested
with the Great Seal, and signed and countersigned by the
Governor and Secretary of State of the State of Florida at
Tallahassee, the Capitol, this the fifth day of Febru-
ary A.D. 1909.

The State of Florida
     To All Whom These Presents Shall Come - Greeting:
Whereas, Wm R. Steckert, C.C. Voyle and A.E. Voyle, on
the thirteenth day of March,  A.D.  1909, filed in the of-
fice of the Secretary of State, a proposed charter of a corpor-
ation to be known as the Florida Telephone Company with
a capital of Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) dollars for the
purpose of operating telephone lines from Brooksville to
Croom, Webster Centre Hill and Leesburg, in Hernando,
Sumter and Lake Counties; from Brooksville to Trilby
and Dade City in Hernando and Pasco counties, its
length about sixty miles, and other lines in the Counties
of Hernando, Citrus, Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk
