maintained at Gainesville, in the County of Alachua
State of Florida.
1st
That the name shall be the "Frank Dansey Normal and Industrial
School" to be located at Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida.
The object of said Normal and Industrial School shall be to promote
the general interest of education, the teaching, inculcating of good
morals and the uplifting and training of colored children, and
to prepare young men and to qualify their students to discharge
honorably and usefully the duties they may be called upon to
perform in life.
2nd.
It is the purpose of this organization to acquire land and personal
property by purchase gift or otherwise necessary for the purposes
of Carrying on and maintaining a school and to receive and
dispose of all property of every kind or charter for the benefit
of the school. All property when acquired shall vest in the
Corporation to be controlled by the Board of Directors.
3rd.
All Ministers of the Baptist faith and all Ministers of
the Jerusalem Association in good standing. And all
other persons of good moral character shall be
eligible membership upon such terms and conditions as may
be prescribed by the Bylaws to be hereafter adopted.
4th.
The terms of which this corporation shall exist is ninety nine years unless otherwise
ordered by a majority of the members.
5th.
The parties to this Corporation are the following viz:-

All the members of this Corporation and they have
hereunto subscribed their names.
6th.
The affairs of this Corporation shall be managed by
Frank Dansey - of Archer - Florida - President.
J.H. Mathews of Gainesville, Florida, Secretary.
A.B. Welch of Gainesville, Florida - Treasurer.
W.C. Dansey of Gainesville Florida - V
Wash West of Gainesville, Florida
G.W. Cole of Hague.
J.S. Sumlin and John O'Neil of Waldo, Florida
and H.P. Sauption of Gainesville Florida and M.B.
Bryant of Monteocha, Florida; and
until their next annual meeting to be held on
the 2nd Tuesday day of March 1910. |
