           Notice of Application for Letters Patent
Notice is hereby given that the subscribers hereto intend
to and will apply on the 3rd day of June  A.D.  1912
to the Governor of the State of Florida at his office
in the Capitol at Tallahassee, Florida, for Letters Pat-
ent and charter for the McDowall Lloyd Company,
the proposed charter of which is now on file in the
Office of the Secretary of State in the City of Tallahassee
Florida, and a true copy of which follows our
signatures hereto, and is made a part of this notice.

    Articles of Incorporation McDowall-Lloyd Company
Article I.  The name of this corporation shall be
McDowall Lloyd Company, and the principal office
and place of business of the corporation shall be
Gainesville Alachua County State of Florida, but the
Board of Directors may establish such branch off-
ices and places of business in other places as
may be necessary for the business of the cor-
poration.
Article II-  The general nature of the business to be
conducted, prosecuted and engaged in by the
corporation are to do any and all of the things
herein set forth to the same extent as natural
persons might or could do; that is, to engage
in and carry on the business of mining and
preparing phosphate and phosphatic materials
for market and to manipulate and manufacture
the same into fertilizers and other products.  To buy
sell, own, hold and dispose of real estate, inter-
ests in lands and to buy, own, hold, sell, leases
and mineral rights for phosphate, clay, fullers
earth, limestone, and other mineral deposits.
To build, own, operate tramroads, or ways, for
its own use in connection with the business
of the corporation, but not to operate said roads 
or trams as a common carrier.
To buy and sell and manufacture and mani-
pulate lumber, coal and fuel of any kind.  To 
operate stores and commissaries and buy and
sell general merchandise at wholesake and
retail.
To enter into, make and perform and carry out contracts
of every kind and description with any person,
firm, association, or corporation and to
have all the rights and powers of a corporation
under the laws of Florida.
Article III-   The capital stock of this corporation shall be
