Now on this day came the parties by
ther Respective attornies and came also the following Jury
to wit
1 Roland Thomas 7 M.D. Colson
2 Jno W. Fifer 8 Jas M. Ellis
3 Willis Peacock 9 Hampton Roundtree
4 J.H. Prescott 10 Thomas B. Holder
5 D.C. Hart 11 Hope Colson
6 E.G. Berry 12 Redding Tuton
who being Elected tried & Sworn well & truly to try
the issue Joined between the parties and after having heard
the Evidence argument of counsell and Charge of the Court
retired to consider of their virdict and having considered thereof
returned into Court with the following virdict We the Jury find
that the defendant is entitled to return of the cow and yearling
in Said declaration mentioned and assess his damages for
the detention thereof at one cent
it is thereupon ordered considered and adjudged
by the Court that the defendant do have his Writ of Retorn
Habendo and it is granted to him he having Elected a return
thereof and that he do have to Recover of and from the Said plain
=tiff the Sum of one cent for his damages to gether with the
costs of Suit in this behalf expended taxed at Thirty Eight
---------- dollars Eighty six cents and the plaintiff in
mercy &c
The court then adjourned until tomorrow morning
