                Thursday December 11th 1856

Philip Dell      }   Dewson
      vs         }
                 }  asst
Jesse T. Bernard }  Bradford
                 } Now on this day comes the
said parties by their respective Attorneys and their
being no plea or other answer filed in said
cause on motion of Plaintiffs atty It is ordered
that the said Plaintiff do have Judgment by default
and that the Clerk do assess the damages, And the
Clerk having assessed the damages at One
hundred and fifty Eight Dollars and fifty cents
It is therefore ordered and considered that the said
Plaintiff do recover of and from the said Defendant
the said sum of $158.50 /---------------------
in form aforesaid assessed together with the
costs in his suit in this behalf expended
Taxed at Three Dollars and ninety cents
And the said Defendant in mercy &c

Written in left margin: 
The amt of damages in this case incorrectly assessed
by the Clerk, It should have been for $169.66/100
