  Monday May 11th 1857

Horatio Thompson          }  Bradford & McLin
          vs              }    Assumpsit
Philip Dell Exr J.B. Coker}
& Maxey D. Colson         }  Dewson,
                                     And now on this day
came the parties by their respective attorney and the defendant
saying nothing in bar or preclusion of the plaintiffs said action
hereof against him It is ordered by the Court that the said
plaintiff do have his Judgment against the said defendant
by default for want of plea and that the Clerk do assess
the damages, Whereupon the Clerk having assessed the dam-
ages at Two hundred & forty nine Dollars and thirty
seven ~~~~~~~~~~ cents, It is further ordered considered
and adjudged by the Court that the plaintiff do have
and recover of and from the said defendant the said sum
of Two hundred and forty nine Dollars and thirty seven
~~~~~~~~ cents for his damages together with his cost
in this behalf expended Taxed at Four ~~~ Dollars and
ninety three cents and the defendant in mercy &c

at nine hundred & seventy nine Dollars and Sixty
Six    cents, It is further ordered considered and
adjudged by the Court that the plaintiff do have and recover
of and from the said defendant the said sum of Nine hun-
dred & seventy nine Dollars and Sixty six ~~~~~~ cents
for his damages together with his cost in this behalf expended
Taxed at Five Dollars and twenty five cents and the
defendant in mercy &c
