themselves to be his securities and severally held and bound
unto the the said Governor of Florida and his successors in
office in the sum of One Hundred Dollars Each, said several
sums of money to be levied of the several lands tenements, goods,
and chattels of the said parties respectively, Yet upon this
condition, That if the said defendant do well and truly
appear at the next term of this Court and from term to term
to answer said Bill of Indictment and not depart thence
unless by leave of the Court then and that event this recogni
zance to be null and void Else to remain of full force & virtue

And now on this day came the Solicitor
James B. Dawkins Esqr. who prosecutes the pleas of the State
in this behalf as well as the defendant by his attorney and
the defendant being formally arraigned pleaded "not guilty"
and put himself upon the Country and thereupon came
a Jury to wit;

who being duly elected and sworn well and truly to
try and true deliverance make between the State of Florida
and the prisoner at the bar, after hearing the testimony of
witnesses the argument of Counsel, and the Charge of the
Court, retired to consider of their verdict and thereupon
afterwards to wit, on the same day returned into Court and
rendered the following to wit, We the Jury find the de-
fendant Not Guilty Whereupon It is ordered, considered
and adjudged by the Court that the defendant do have
and recover of and from the plaintiff the sum of
Eight Dollars and Eighteen cents Taxed
in this cause and the plaintiff in mercy &c
