    Monday December 14th 1857

Robert A. King   }    N.P. Doby
    vs           }    Debt
Peter Guinn      }
and James Jones  }    Bradford & McLin
                   And now on this day came the said plain
tiff by his attorney N.P. Doby Esqr and the said defendant comes
by Bradford & McLin their attornies & says nothing but makes
default & whereupon the said plaintiff prays Judgement 
for want of a plea and that the Clerk assess the damages 
and the Clerk having assessed the damages by reason 
of the premises at the sum of Two hundred & Ninety Dollars 
& Thirteen --- cents Therefore it is considered by 
the Court that the said plaintiff do recover of the said 
defendants the said Sum of Two hundred & Ninety Dolls 
& Thirteen ---- Cents so as aforesaid assessed against 
him with thereon untill paid together with the further 
sum of                  dollars &        
          cents for his cost in this behalf expended 
and the said defendant in mercy &c

                        And now on this day came the said plaintiff by his
attorney George W. Means Esqr and the said defendants by Dawkins
& Smith their attornies and says nothing in bar or preclusion of
said debt & whereupon said plaintiff by his attorney moves the
court for a Judgment by default for want of a plea and that
the Clerk assess the damages by the said plaintiff sustained
by the detension of said debt & the Clerk having assessed
the damages at Sixty Seven --- dollars and Twenty two
          cents It is therefore considered & adjudged by
the Court that the said plaintiff do have and recover
of & from the said defendant the said sum of Sixty
Seven  Dollars & Twenty two --- cents for his dama
-ges for the detension of said debt together with Interest here
on untill paid & the further sum of                     dolls
&          cents for his costs in this behalf expended
and the defendant in mercy &c
