Who having returned under direction of the Court to Solicit
their foreman hereafter & upon the Same day returned into
Court and reported George W. Boston to be their Choice as
foreman he was duly appointed & approved by the Court
as foreman Whereupon the Said George W. Boston was
duly Sworn to discharge his duties as foreman as afore
said who having received the charge of the Court, retired
under Charge of T.A. McCreight who was duly sworn as
Bailiff of Said Jury for the term to deliberate upon Such
business as might be brought before them
The Court then pro
ceeded to Call the Criminal Docket finding no Cases ready
for trial Called the Trial Docket

And now on this day came the parties
by their respective attornies, and the defendant Saying
nothing in bar or preclusion of the plaintiffs right to recover
On motion of plaintiffs attorney it is order that the plaintiff
do have his Judgment against the defendant by default and
that the Clerk do assess the damages Whereupon the Clerk
having assessed the damages at Four hundred & Eighty three
dollars & Sixteen Cents it is ordered Considered
and adjudged by the Court that the plaintiff do have
and recover of and from the defendant the Said Sum of
Four hundred & Eighty three Dollars & Sixteen
Cents for his damages, together with his Cost in this behalf
Expended taxed at dollars &
Cents and the defendant in Mercy &c
