And now on this day came the parties
by E.M. Graham Esqr who prosecutes the pleas of the
State in this behalf as well also as the prisoner by his Council
and after being arraigned prisoner pleads not guilty, and puts
himself upon the Country, and thereupon came a Jury to wit
1 William Strickland 5 Thomas May 9 J.D. Geiger
2 Andrew Robb 6 Thomas O. Turner 10 C.M. Broome
3 Stephen McCall 7 M.M. May 11 Kinchen Howell
4 C. Rain 8 J.W. Burnett 12 S.B. Temple
who being elected tried & Sworn the truth of and upon the
premises to Speak and who having heard the testimony of Dr.
G.P. Thomas, W.D. Clark, R.H. Bevill, J.C. Gardner, Wm Chappell
J.W. Clements & S.F. Harvard who having heard the evidence and
argument of Council and Charge of the Court retired to
consider of their verdict and having considered thereof
they returned into Court with the following verdict "We the
Jury find the prisoner not guilty" Therefore it was ordered
that the prisoner be discharged
The following Jury were fined at the present Term of Court for non
attendance viz J.H. Burghim $20, James A. Goff $20, Joseph
Little $20 S.B. Temple $20 James T. Thomas $25
It appearing to the Satisfaction
of the Court that Philip Fraser & John W. Price of
the Town of Jacksonville & attornies at Law in this State
& Practitioners in this Circuit have gone over to our
enemies & became traitors to the State of Florida &
the Confederate States of America, the Court upon its
own motion Strikes their names from the roll of attornies &
the Clerk is ordered to spread this order upon the
minutes of the Court
