Alachua County } At a regular term of the Circuit Court
of the Suwannee Circuit of Florida this day to wit on the
11th day of April A.D. 1864 began and held at Gainesville
for the County of Alachua
Present his Honor Thomas F. King
Judge of the Southern Circuit of said State by agreement
of exchange as agreed upon Samuel W. Burnett Sheriff
and S.P. Bevill Clerk The Venire heretofore issued being
returned & the Jurors Summoned to attend at this term
being Called, the following Jurors answered to their names
to wit

2 Samuel Thomas 10 F.A. Underwood
3 John Lewis 11 L.A. Dearing
4 George Johns 12 Charles Gann
5 William D. Stewman 13 J.M. Croxton
6 William Buie 14 P.B.H. Dudley
7 William Waits 15 O.W. Richard
8 James Baldwin
Who having returned under direction of
the Court to Solicit their Foreman there after and upon the
same day returned into Court and reported Lemuel Wilson
to be their choice as foreman, Whereupon the said L.
Wilson was duly Sworn to discharge his duties as foreman
as aforesaid, who having received his charge of he Court
returned under charge of who was duly
Sworn as Bailiff of said Jury for the term to deliberate upon
Such business as might be brought before them
The Court then proceeded to call the Criminal Docket no case
being ready called the trial Docket, and taken Judgement upon
the following cases to wit

vs
C.A. Ramsey & } And now on this day came the parties by
Tillman Ingram} their respective attornies, and the defendant
Saying nothing in bar or preclusion of the plaintiffs right to
recover on Motion of plaintiffs attorney, it is ordered that
the plaintiff do have his Judgement against the defendant by
default and that the Clerk do assess the damages Whereupon
the Clerk having assessed the damages at One hundred &
Twenty nine Dollars & Forty Seven Cents it is ordered
Considered and adjudged by the Court that the plaintiff
do have and recover of and from the defendant the said sum of
Dollars & Cents for his
damages together with his Cost in this behalf taxed Eleven
Dollars & Ninety Cents and the defendant in Mercy &c |
