Alachua County      }  At a regular Term of
the Circuit Court of the Suwannee circuit of
Florida this day to wit on the 9th day of
April A.D. 1866 began and held at Gainesville for
the County aforesaid
                      Present his honor Thomas
T. Long Judge, George J. Arnow Solicitor John
O. Cosby Sheriff and S.P. Bevill Clerk, there having
been a failure to Summon Jurors agreeably to Law, it
is ordered that a Venire facias be issued return
-able immediately Commanding the Sheriff to Summon
Fourteen Jurors to attend at this Term of the Court

Whereupon the Sheriff Summoned the following to Serve
as Jurors for the present Term to wit Wade H. Sparkman
E.P. Hickson, Ignatious Griffin, S.G. Wynne, T.B. Lewis, J.R.
W. Grisson, Daniel Morrison Jnr, W.C. Huggins, James W.
McRae, Stephen Dampier, John Haile, Dillon Griffin,
Thomas W. Lewis, B.T. Beckam, Henry Parker, John Grimes
J. Jackson, J.J. Jones, J.G. Colson, Charles Little, Edward
Haile, F.A.L. Cassidy, G.L. Denton, Thomas Whitaker
George Hancock, Stephen T. Harvard, Burrill Wiggins
Daniel Chesser, Thomas Swift, John H. Mingert, W.N.
Thompson, John A. Cannon, K.D. Smith, Elias Earl,
E. Pearcy, J.P.C. Massey, F.A. Shannon, Simon Temple,
Samuel Tucker --- The following were then chosen &
Solicited as Grand Jurors for the present Term to wit
1  Wade H. Sparkman       9   James W. McRae
2  E.P. Hickson           10  Stephen Dampier
3  Ignatious Griffin      11  John Haile
4  S.G. Wynne             12  Dillon Griffin
5  T.B. Lewis             13  Thomas W. Lewis
6  J.R.W. Grissom         14  B.T. Beckam
7  Daniel Morrison Jnr    15  Henry Parker
8  W.C. Huggins --- who having retired under direction
of the Court to Solicit their foreman there after and
upon the same day returned into Court and reported
Wade H. Sparkman to be their choice as foreman he
was duly appointed and affirmed by the Court as
foreman, Whereupon the said W.H. Sparkman was duly
Sworn to discharge his duties as foreman as a foresaid
who having received his charge of the Court, returned
under charge of C.O. Bailey as Bailiff to deliberate upon
such business as might be brought before them
  The Court then proceeded to call the Trial Docket
The Court then took recess untill 12 past 1 Oclock, met purs
uant to adjournment There being no business for the
