Alachua County } At a regular Term of the Circuit
Court of the Suwannee Circuit of Florida this day to
wit on the 8th day of October A.D. 1866 began and
held at Gainesville for the County aforesaid
Present His Honor Thomas T. Long Judge, George J.
Arnow Solicitor John O. Cosby Sheriff and S.P. Bevill
Clerk There having been a failure to Summons Jurors
agreeably to law it is ordered that a Veniri facias be
issued returnable instanter Commanding the Sheriff to
Summons Fifteen Jurors to attend at this term of the
Court T.T. Long Judge &c
Whereupon the Sheriff Summoned the following to Serve
as Jurors for the present Term to wit
The following were then chosen and
Solicited as Grand Jurors for the present Term to wit
1 George W. Boston 9 George Gillett
2 T.W. Downing 10 John L. Cameron
3 James W. McRae 11 John Coker
4 W.S. Hawthorn 12 George Johns
5 Joseph C. Blake 13 Edward Pearce
6 Henry C. Denton 14 Henry Fewell
7 Edward Lewis 15 A.W. Hinson
8 John G. Falkner
who having retired under direction of the Court, to Solicit
their foreman, there after and upon the Same day, returned
into Court, and reported George W. Boston to be their choice as
foreman, he was duly appointed and approved by the Court
as foreman Whereupon the Said George W. Boston was duly
Sworn to discharge his duties as foreman as aforesaid
who having received his charge of the Court returned
under charge of Samuel Tucker as Bailiff to deliberate
upon Such business as Might be brought before them
The Court then proceeded to call the Trial docket,
The Court then took a recess until three OClock, met
pursuant to adjournment |
