           Monday Oct 8th 1866
of the premises of the defendant, after hearing the testimony
retired to consider of their verdict and thereafter to wit upon the
same day returned into Court and rendered the following verdict
to wit, We the Jury find for the plaintiff and assess the damages
at                                             dollars Whereupon
it is ordered and adjudged by the Court that the Plaintiff do
have his and recover off and from the defendant the said sum
of                                             Dollars together
with his Cost in this behalf expended taxed at
                    dollars and the defendant in Mercy &c
Adjourned until 9 OClock tomorrow
                             Met pursuant to adjournment
                     Wednesday October 10th 1866

                     On this day came the Solicitor George J. Arnow
Esqr who prosecutes the pleas of the State of Florida in this behalf
as well also as the prisoner in person, who having entered a plea
of not guilty thereupon came a Jury to wit

who having been duly Sworn well and truly to try and a true
deliverance make between the State Florida and the prisoner at
the Bar, after having heard the testimony of Witness the Argument
of Council and the Charge of the Court, retired in charge of a
Sworn Bailiff to consider of their verdict and afterwards to wit
on the same day returned into Court and rendered the following
Verdict to wit: We the Jury find the defendant guilty of an
assault & Battery and assess the Fine at Twenty five dollars, Whereupon
it is ordered Considered and adjudged by the Court that
the said defendant do pay a fine of Twenty five dollars, together
with his Cost of this prosecution, and it is further ordered that
the defendant do Stand Committed untill the same be paid &
the defendant in Mercy &c
