State of Florida }
Alachua County   } At a regular term of the Circuit
Court, of the Suwannee Circuit of Florida, this day
to wit on the 11th day of May 1868 begun & held at
Gainesville for the County of Alachua
                                      Present his
honor Thomas T. Long Judge of the Suwannee Circuit
of said State, George G. Arnow Solicitor, George L.
Barnes Sheriff & S.P. Bevill Clerk, there having been a
failure to summons agreeable to Law, it is ordered
that a Veniri facias be issued returnable instanter
Commanding the Sheriff to Summons        Jurors to
Serve as Jurors at the present Term of the Court
                                 Thos T. Long  Judge
Whereupon the Sheriff having Summonsed the following
to Serve as Jurors for the present Term to wit

3   Thomas J. Long               15   Thaddeus Foster
4   Samuel Ferrell               16   F.G. Piggott

  The following were then chosen & Solicited to Serve as
Grand Jurors for the Term to wit

3   William Waits                11  W.D. Tillman
4   R.B. Wasson                  12  Stephen Dampier
5   John C.H. Mills              13  John J. Thompson

7   J.H. Simonton                15  John P. Rivers
8   Noah Townsend
who having returned under direction of the Court to elect
their foreman, then and after & upon the Same day returned
into Court and reported R.E. Johnston to be their choice as
foreman, Whereupon the said R.E. Johnson was duly Sworn to
discharge the duties as foreman as aforesaid who having
received his charge of the Court, returned under charge
of                 Boarden who was duly Sworn as Bailiff of
said Jury for the Term, to deliberate upon Such business as
might be brought before the them
  the Court then proceed to call the trial Docket
