        vs       }  attatchment
James R. Simpson }   And now on this day came the
parties by their respective attornies, and thereupon
came a Jury to wit

who being duly Sworn well and truly to try the issue
joined by the parties after hearing the testimony of
witness, the argument of Council and the charge of the Court,
retired to consider of their verdict, and thereupon, and on
the Same day returned into Court and rendered the
following verdict, We the Jury find for the Plaintiff
and assess the damages at Two hundred & twenty Seven
dollars and forty nine Cents, Whereupon it is ordered
considered an adjudged by the Court that the plaintiff
do have and recover off and from the defendant the
said Sum of Two hundred & twenty Seven dollars and
forty nine cents for his damages together with his Costs
taxed at  Nine ---- -----          -------
  Dollars & Ninety two Cents and the Defendant in mercy &c

in bar or preclusion of the plaintiffs right to recover on motion
of Plaintiffs it is ordered that the plaintiff do have his Judgment
against the defendant by default and that the Clerk do assess
the damages Whereupon the Clerk having assessed the dam
-ages at One hundred & Eighty Eight        Dollars & Forty
cents, It is ordered considered and adjudged by the Court that
the plaintiff do have and recover off and from the Defend
ant the said Sum of One hundred & Eighty
   Dollars & Forty Cents for his damages together
with his Costs taxed at Thirty five    Dollars &
cents and the defendant in mercy &
