    Thursday April 8th A.D. 1869
Court met pursuant to adjournment Criminal 
docket Continued

State of Florida     }                   Solicitor        }
      vs             } Procuring a felony                 }   not Guilty
James E. Collins     }  to be committed  Gardener & Finley}  
On this day came the Solicitor Archibald T. Banks who
prosecutes the plea of the State in this behalf as well 
as the prisoner in person who having entered a plea of
not Guilty thereupon came a Jury to wit
1  Butler Chisholm      5  Christopher Cummings      9   
2  Ishmahel Jenkins     6  Charles Thomas            10  
3  Walter Price         7  Benjamin Welcome          11  
4  Primus Player        8  Peter Spann               12  
who having been duly sworn well and truly to try and the
deliberations make between the State of Florida and the
prisoner at the Bar after having heard the testimony
of the witnesses the arguments of Council and the charge
of the Court retired in charge of a bailiff to consider on
their verdict and afterwards to wit on the same day re=
=turned into Court and rendered the following Verdict -
We the Jury find the defendant prisoner not Guilty = the
Judge thereupon ordered the prisoner released and finally
discharged from the charge

Joseph Adkins        }                    Gardner}  
     On this day came the solicitor Archibald T. Banks who prosecutes 
the plea of the State in this behalf as well as the prisoner in 
person who having entered a plea of not Guilty thereupon came 
a Jury to wit

who having been duly sworn well and truly to try and the delib=
erations make between the State of Florida and the prisoner at 
the bar after having heard the testimony of the witnesses the 
arguments of Counsel and the charge of the Court retired in 
charge of a Bailiff to consider of their verdict and afterwards 
to wit on the same day returned into Court and rendered the 
following verdict We the Jury find the defendant Guilty thereupon it is ordered 
considered and adjudged by the Court that the said Joseph Adkins be 
sentenced to three Years imprisonment at hard labor in the penitentiary
for the term of Three Years
