                    On this day came the Solicitor 
James B. Dawkins Esq who Prosecute the Pleas of the 
State in this behalf as well also as the Prisoner
in Person who having entered the Plea of not guilty
thereupon came a Jury to wit


Who having being duly sworn well and truly to 
try and a true deliverance make between the
State of Florida and the Prisoner at the Bar
after having heard the testimony of witness the ar
gument of Council and charge of the Court re
tired in the charge of a Sworn Bailiff to consider 
of their verdict and afterwards to wit on the 
same day returned into Court and rendered the 
following verdict to wit We the Jury find the
defendant guilty of an assault with an intent
to Kill and assess fine at five hundred dollars
whereupon it is Ordered Considered and adjudged
by the Court that the said defendant do pay
a fine of five hundred dollars together with the
costs of this Prosecution and it is further Or
dered that the defendant do Stand committed
untill the same be Paid and the defendant
in Mercy &c
