ament of Julia A. Van Ness, deceased, (A duly authenticated
copy of said Will and the record of probate being now of
record among the land records of Alachua County and State
of Florida), party of the first part, and John Best, of the
City of Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida, party of the
second part. Witnesseth, that in consideration of the sum of
Sixty Dollars ($ 60.00) paid by the said party of the second
part to the said party of the first part, receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged, the said party of the first part
doth hereby grant, bargain, sell, assign, transfer and set
over unto the said party of the second part, his heirs
and assigns, all that certain piece or parcel of land sit-
uate and lying in Brush's Addition to the City of Gaines-
ville, Alachua County, Florida, and described as follows,
that is to say: Lot Number eight, (Lot No. 8) in the
Southern sub-division of Block Number Twenty-six (Blk.
No. 26) as shown on a plat of said Brush's Addition made
by A.W. Taylor, Civil Engineer, in the year 1905, and duly
recorded in the said Alachua County and the said
Lot Number Eight (8) is more specifically described
as follows: Beginning at a point on the North boundary
line of West Seminary Street distant two hundred and
sixty (260) feet west of the South East corner of said Block
number Twenty-six and extending thence North along
the West boundary line of Lot Number Nine formerly
deeded to Lula Harrell one hundred and sixty-eight
(168) feet, more or less; thence extending West fifty (50)
feet; thence extending South one hundred and sixty-
eight (168) feet, more or less, to the North boundary
line of West Seminary Street; thence extending East
along said North boundary line fifty (50) feet to the
place of beginning. Being party of the grant of land
known as the "Arredondo Grant," which by decree of the
Circuit Court of St. John's County, in the case of Brush
and others against Prall and others, dated August 11th,
1849, and duly recorded in the said Alachua County,
was adjudged and set over to the heirs-at-law and
devisees of Nehemiah Brush, deceased; the title to which
land vested in the said Julia A. Van Ness at the time
of her death as one of the heirs-at-law and devisees of |
