And Whereas, we are desirous of fully and better securing
the payment of said note and the sum of money mentioned
therein. Therefore know all men by these presents, that we,
M.J. Patterson and J.H. Patterson, for and in consideration
of the premises and of one ($ 1.00) Dollar to them in hand
paid, have granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and by
these presents do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto
said Martha L. Dickinson, her heirs and assigns, all the
following described piece, parcel or tract of land, situated,
lying and being in the County of Alachua and State
of Florida, to-wit:
The West half of lot sixteen (16), lots thirteen (13), fourteen
(14) and fifteen (15), in block B. of W.R. Thomas' Sub-division
of the West half of block five (5), Brown's Addition to Gaines-
ville. Together with all and singular the tenements, here-
ditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in
anywise appertaining. To have and to hold the same unto
the said Martha L. Dickinson, her heirs and assigns
forever. Provided, however, and these presents are upon this
express condition, that if the said M.J. Patterson and J.
H. Patterson, her husband, their heirs or assigns, shall
well and truly pay or cause to be paid the sum of money
covenanted to be paid by said note, together with the
interest to accrue thereon according to the legal tenor
and effect there of, then this obligation shall become null
and void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
And it is hereby further agreed and stipulated that the
said M.J. Patterson and J.H. Patterson, her husband,
and their heirs and assigns will pay all costs, expen-
ses and attorney's fees which the said Martha L. Dick-
inson may be put to in enforcing the collection of the
aforesaid sum of money covenanted to be paid by the
said note, by foreclosure or otherwise. And it is further
agreed and stipulated that should anyone of the above
described notes, or any part there of, or any part of the
interest thereon, remain due and unpaid for the space
of thirty days after maturity, then and in that event
the whole of the balance of the principal sum and
